Building on your own lot means Origin Homes constructs your custom home on land you already own or have identified, rather than on an established lot in a subdivision. You choose the floorplan (or bring your own design), and we handle construction, permitting, and coordinating any sitework your land needs before we can break ground.
Before construction can start, most lots need some combination of sitework, utility hookups, a well, septic system, driveway, and grading. Origin Homes can provide all of these services for a fixed price outlined in your Purchase Agreement — or you can arrange them yourself if you’d prefer to handle site prep independently.
Not at all. While many of our clients already own their land, we also work with buyers who are still searching for the right property. Through our partnership with New Home Site Realty, we help match you with available land across Iowa that fits your budget, lot size, and location needs.
If you don’t yet own land, our land-sourcing partner, April Bitterman of New Home Site Realty, will work with you directly to identify available properties that fit your goals. She reviews your survey responses and sends you the best available options before you move forward. We’re also working on adding preferred lending partners to help with land financing; that piece is still in progress and we’ll share details once it’s ready.
