Where do you Build?

Unlike other homebuilders, Origin will travel within all 99 counties in Iowa. We partner with local trades and contractors near your community to make sure our quality, timeliness and progress stays top of mind.

How long will it take to build my home?

At Origin, our goal is six (6) months. Move-in date is based on design/finish selection efficiency, number of change orders throughout the build, building materials and labor and finally, weather. Iowa’s weather is unpredictable – we do our best to work throughout all seasonal challenges.

How does the construction loan work?

The construction loan is the responsibility of the homeowner. You will carry the construction loan – the home will not be financed by Origin Homes. However, we are happy to make the process an easy one with the assistance of our preferred lenders.

What styles of homes do you build?

We build single-family homes in Ranch, 1.5-story and 2-story styles.

What are the steps to building with Origin?

Check out our Path to Home Ownership. This lays out how we assess your land, pick a floorplan or analyze your blueprint, select finishes, begin construction and complete your home. We keep it as simple as possible.

What restrictions will I have, if any, while building on my own land?

It’s possible that your specific county may require certain amounts of frontage, property line depth and/or other building requirements to build your home. Origin will work with each county to understand and work within the requirements.
